Busy week

This last week has been pretty hectic. On Tuesday James went into work at 7 am to fix his emergency lights. He got home at about 4 pm and was called back to his theater like 5 minutes later because he was being audited. Audits are a big deal and they have a lot to do with his raises, bonuses, and job security so it was really important that it went well. He had an extremely long day and I know he was really stressed out. I am very happy to report that his audit went really well and he only missed a few things and nothing big. He was so happy and I am very proud of him. I am also really happy that it is done so that we don’t have to worry about it around baby time.

Yesterday I went to the doctor and it was very interesting. The good news is that I am full term so she can come at any point now and she should be fine. They checked my sugar level and it was really high. They check my protein level and it was really high. They checked my blood pressure and it was high. But they said it was not that big of deal because at this point, your body can’t handle everything and they really don’t do anything to stop this stuff and that it should go back to normal once she is born. They did tell me that I can’t drink any soda or eat sweets, which is a real bummer because I do love ice cream right now. They said that I am measuring at 43 cm which is pretty dang big and that Peyton is probably already about 7 pounds. She checked everything and said that she could come anytime or not for 3-4 weeks….there is just no way of knowing. She also said that she will be out of town for a big portion of August and that she can induce me or I can have someone else deliver her. I wish they would tell you a little sooner about this stuff. We haven’t decided yet and we are hoping that she will just come on her own before that so we don’t have to decide.

Day at Peace Gardens

We met for dinner downtown at The Red Iguana and then went to Peace Gardens and walked around. We were not there that long because….well it was like 100 degrees….I am very pregnant…. Mom is not very active either….and Dad was doing the Argyle thing (if you have to ask, then you will never know). Afterwards, we went looking for an ice cream shop. That is apparently not easy to find on a Sunday evening in Utah. So we ended up at Starbucks and made the most of their smoothies. All together it was a fun day and I got some pretty good pictures.

My Surprise Baby Shower :)

My coworkers are so amazing. They threw me a surprise baby shower today and it was wonderful. They had really great croissant sandwiches, chips, fruit juice with fresh fruit in it, and yummy Oreo cake. They also played a few games and had some prizes for the winning players. They had decorated the conference room with pink and black balloons and had tinsel and crepe paper everywhere. They bought Peyton some wonderful items from her registry. Here are some pictures of the presents that we got. I had no idea they were throwing the shower and it was such a good surprise. Laura, Stephanie, and Dani were in charge of it and I am very grateful that they are my friends and coworkers. It was absolutely perfect.

Death to the Insurance Company

I am so sick of getting the run around with insurance companies. My insurance company told me that they cover nursing pumps and that I would need a prescription from my doctor and that I would have to purchase it at a medical store. So I went to the doctor, got the prescription, and called the insurance company to ask where they would like me to pick it up. THEN…they inform me that it is not medically necessary and they will not cover it. My Doctors prescription says on it “medically necessary”. I told them this and they said they can’t cover it until the baby is born and only if the baby “needs” it. I could be wrong, but I think that my Doctor might be a better judge of my needs and the Peyton’s needs then the insurance company. So I said that was fine I would just wait until she is born before I submit the prescription and then the lady tells me that the Doctors note has to be from the Pediatrician, not the OB and that it cannot be submitted until the babies first natal visit because the insurance won’t cover a pediatrician until the baby is born either. So basically, you can’t get one until the first week is over and then you have to run around and pick up everything for it that following week….after just having a baby. What a joke. I know they don’t want you to take advantage of it so they have you jump through as many hoops as possible. But they are not messing with this Mama. I don’t care if it is a hassle, THEY WILL BE PAYING FOR IT. I will not be bullied into submission. I will post as soon as I conquer them.

Happy Birthday to me

Saturday was my birthday and I turned 29. I guess I should not be to upset….no 30 yet (although Aunt Connie sent me a card saying I was thirty..haha…good laugh). It was a pretty boring birthday. So boring that most of my family forgot about it. Both James and I had to work that day and we just had the dogs fixed Friday so we just went to dinner and Home Depot for a few minutes……I know… so exciting. On Sunday James went boating with his family and I sat home all day with the dogs in bed…..and I loved it. It was so nice just relaxing and cuddling with my little babies. I wish I had more days like that.

Baby Shower

Last week my Mom and Taffy threw a baby shower for Peyton and me. We had a lot of fun. Missy and my Mom came up with some great games. The first game we played was “Guess the width of my belly with a string” I was nervous about this game because my mid section is really large right now. It was so funny though, everyone’s string was way to big…it made me feel good that I was not that big. Brittany won that contest. Her string was just a few inches too big. Tandem won the awarded for the farthest off. Her string was so big; it could have gone around me several times. Lona won the safety pin baby game. She had over a dozen pins at the end of the game. Kellee won the baby movie star game. She guessed 9 out of 20 which was very impressive. The food was excellent and Taffy made some excellent desserts. Peyton got a ton of really cute baby clothes, blankets, and baby items. Everything was perfect. Overall, it was a great baby shower and it was so nice having all of the people I care about there. I can’t believe she will be here so soon. Thank you so much to my great friends, my parents, Dac, Anita, Aunt Sharon, Aunt Connie, Grandma Argyle, and of course James for helping so much in preparation for this baby.
