Big Events

We have a lot of big events that are happening this summer or have happened in the past few weeks. Here is a list......

· Baby Peyton coming in August: obviously the most important thing.

  • Bought a house: also pretty big

· Bill’s Retirement from the Air Force: May 20th Retirement

· Andrea and Mike’s Wedding: August 7th (hopefully Peyton stirs clear of this day for her arrival)

· Butikofer Family Reunion: June 19th-21st Hosted by my Mom. I wish we could go, but it is not smart to be out in the wilderness with Peyton’s due date approaching.

· Little Oopsie’s 3rd Birthday: August 11th. My cute little dog that is really annoying, but I love her so much. Kobb's birthday too.

· Peyton’s Baby Shower: July 15th. Hosted by my amazing friends Kellee and Missy.

· Housewarming Party: July 12th. Hosted by ME. So fun : )

Painting for Peyton

Here are some cute pictures of James painting our new nursery. His shirt is pink too…haha…not because of the paint, but because he washed all of his white shirts with one of my red ones…so funny. I have him doing so many projects. He is such a hard worker. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful husband. This project still has many steps left. He has to paint the third color on the wall, finish the crown molding, install the chandelier, paint and refinish some of the furniture, install the new window treatments, order the new carpet to be installed, and assemble all her baby items. Once that is all done then it is on to the next room. :)

Homeowners….Woot Woot !

I am proud to say that we are officially homeowners. We closed on Monday and after a day of it being recorded, we were given the keys. We moved all of our stuff over on Wednesday. Because I am so ultra-Prego now, my help was limited….I did clean the house before everyone arrived, but all of the heavy lifting was left up to James and our families. I was going to take pictures of our big moving day, but I didn’t feel like it was appropriate to snap pictures of all of these over-worked laborers while I sat and supervised.
We already have some big plans for the house, but home improvements are so dang expensive. Right now we are settling for decorating Peyton’s room and possibly new carpet in some of the rooms upstairs. We found a piece of carpet out in the garage and realized that the carpet is supposed to be white…..hehe…..it currently looks dirty tan/brownish. We don’t want little Peyton crawling around on that. We have a list of things that we need or that will have to be fixed at some point…..maybe will get around to them……we will see.
Decorating a home is definitely a talent, and one that I do not have. I just have no idea where stuff should go or what would look best and none of our “hand me down” furniture matches which makes it even more of a challenge.
I am so grateful to have the house buying adventure behind us. I am 30 weeks pregnant and very excited for this little one to join us soon. I think that she will be very happy in our new home.

Rudy

I just found out yesterday that my Grandma lost her precious little dog Rudy. Her dogs have been like her kids so I know that she is taking it really hard. She had Rudy forever and I know that they had a really special bond. He was such a perfect little dog and he will be missed by the whole family. I hope that my Grandma can find comfort in the memories of him. We are praying for her in this sad time. We love you and miss you Rudy.
